I was going to post on the feature at 24N and 60W ,but it looked like it was falling apart so I didn't bother.

Based on buoy reports, I would call it a tropical wave. What you menitoned is the northern extent of it. The southern half is also spinning in the E Caribbean. Good catch.

From NHC:
A TROUGH IS OVER
THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC N OF 20N BETWEEN 50W-70W. AN UPPER LEVEL
LOW IS EMBEDDED WITHIN THE TROUGH NEAR 24N61W.

This from this afternoon's Miami NWS discussion:

IN THE EXTENDED SOMETHING THAT WILL HAVE TO BE MONITORED
IS INVERTED TROUGH NEAR HISPANIOLA. THE GFS ONLY NUDGES THIS
TROUGH TOWARD S FLA THROUGH THE WEEK AND THEN DEVELOPS A SFC LOW
OVER THE CENT BAHAMAS BY FRIDAY. THIS SHOULD KEEP PRECIP WELL AWAY
FROM S FLA BUT STAY TUNED IF THIS GETS CLOSER.

Well we may want to look at the Puerto Rico radar to see if there is any circulation with this.

Willie,it's far away northeast of Puerto Rico that the long range does not capture it.

do think it might develop into something. i'm not saying it will become anything tropical.

Typhoon Willie,I am Posting the long range radar at a hypertext link and taking out the radar you posted because some members can't get into the thread and as soon it opens,for some reason when you move the cursur in the thread it is shaky.But doing this I think solves the problem.

That's not a tropical wave, but it's a very weak surface trough completely devoid of convection. It actually appears to have lost its circulation in the latest visible satellite loop and it's embedded in some bone-dry air. No development here, I'm afraid.

This feature is probably nothing to worry about at this time, but even so we are starting to get to that time of year when we need to watch things a bit more closely. It is really hard to believe hurricane season is just 34 days away!
