Yes, one wanted to talk to my son who wasn't home at the time. Also when my youngest was 12 or 13 a cop wanted to question him about a burgalry that took place at the house next to my morning crossing duty site. The date i the burgalry took place couldn't have been by my son, The day in question, my son was 50 miles out in the Gulf Of Mexico on a deep sea fishing trip with the rest of the family. The cop said another kid in the neighbor hood said that my son was involved but my son wasn't ,I had receipts and pictures to prove it.

A couple. First, way back in my family's first house, a new sub-division, there was a report of building materials being stolen by some late teen/early 20s males. A cop came by to just ask us what we say. This was in the late 1980s.

Then, I had the unfortunate mishap on the freeway in 2004. I was on my way back from a severe weather symposium in Lincoln, about 50 miles away, and then only had been driving for three months. My first merge onto the Interstate alone went very well. The second one on the home, though, was not too hot. I was paying too much attention to the oncoming traffic, of which there was not much, and wound up going into a guardrail at 40 mph.

However, the rest of my few interactions with officers or security officers (i.e. on my campus) are positive! They do GREAT work, and I made sure that state patrol officer knew that. It is not as easy as you think being a law enforcement officer, especially when you have people such as me scared to death.

sort of... I opened my front door early one morning to retrieve the newspaper to find a SWAT officer - gun drawn - standing at the corner of my front porch - peering at my neighbor's home. A quick glance confirmed there were at least 3 other officers taking up positions around my neighbor's home. I froze until he glanced at me and nodded me back into my house. LOL - I hid under my kitchen table for 10 minutes before I had the courage to peek out the window. They made the arrest without incident...and darn it.. I never found out what it was all about. The neighbor had never given me the slightest trouble - or indication of trouble - and was in his late 60's...retired. Hmmm.. I've always wondered what the heck he did!

Windswept...don't be fooled by a persons age! We had a 75 year old MAN busted in Phoenix for being a CHILD MOLESTER a few days back....scumbag!!!

True az. I wish I knew what he was charged with to warrent such a show of force. I didn't know him well, but by "appearances" he seemed a nice, friendly man. I guess it is a good lesson not to judge people too quickly one way or the other by outward appearances.

Windswept....I'm in law enforcement, a criminal investigator to be exact and believe it or not, there's a LOT of older folks involved in illict activity, a LOT of drug dealings go on with the elders, I mean they almost HAVE to to supplement their limited income!

Yes, dectectives mainly. This was about 10 years ago, I was dating this guy and we broke up a week before. He took off,never told anyone, and was missing for nearly 2 weeks. They were asking me all sorts of questions, so we could try to find out where he could possibly be. They finally found him all the way in Las Vegas and he nearly died. He tried to commit suicide, luckily he survived the attempt. That was 10 years ago and he totally cleaned up his life. He is a college graduate, has a good job, is now drug free, and we just recently got in touch again due to myspace. Even though we live only about 5 miles from each other, we totally lost all contact.

once that i remember, my neighbor's apartment got robbed in the middle of the day, and the cops came around in the evening and knocked on my door to see if i heard or saw anything suspicious during around the time of the robbery.

that was the one and only time.

Yep. Wasn't it Ted Bundy (the serial killer) of whom some of the jurors in his case said they didn't think anyone so handsome could have commited such gruesome murders?

Ugly people have a distinct disadvantage in this world of ours that's so hung up on appearances.
