Hello fellow Porchians... (I think that is what we are called) ;) . Hope everyone is doing well today.

WM... I like to mow the lawn too. I usually cut it twice a week, but a couple weeks earlier this spring it was 3 times. :o

Enjoy your vacation Miss Mary. Rest and relaxation are always beneficial. :)

So sorry to hear about your migraine Sandi. I have never had one, but my mother does all the time. They are painful!

Enjoy the rest of your Friday! :)

I think you can do it David. 8:45 a.m.?? You?? Wow! :o I think you have turned over a new leaf... or it was just a fluke.

I just got back from eating at Subway with my mother. It was so crowded. I just saw we are getting a new carwash and have heard rumors that a new buildinng that is going up will be a Payless Shoe Store. Now if we only had a Walgreen's...

Don't rub it in. When I was in Springfield on Tuesday I saw like 7 or 8 of them. We have close to 9,000 people for goodness sakes. Surely we can have 1. We already have 2 Dollar General's, A Fred's, and a Dollar Tree.

Boy the rain won't quit. It does for short periods of time and then some more if not light, moderate to heavy rain. There were some thunderstorms in my general area during the morning. In fact they developed toward dawn to my west/west-northwest.

I got soaked just putting groceries in the car at Wal-Mart today... even several feet from the front door.

There are three Walgreens in a short stretch of highway from my house. There are two Eckerd's (which, in case you didn't know is owned by JCPenny), only a few miles apart.

Don't rub it in Mr. Statistician. ;)

I have been looking at your radar while posting and it has been raining in your area almost all day. Try to stay dry.

Good Friday afternoon. I still have my job. :D But next week I find out whether or not I keep it for good.

I also have more good news for you but that will be saved for another thread, so be paying attention. ;)

We got RAIN last night. Not drizzle, but actual RAIN. :o That was cool. :D It wet the ground and dripped off of my tile roof. :)

Have a bodacious weekend. :D -- Joshua

More rain today, but it was in the morning (at least my morning, which begins around 10:30 and ends around 3 ;) ). The totals since Wednesday morning reached 2.50" in parts of Wake County just a mile or four south of me (rough estimate), but I am in the edge of the .75-1" zone, which sucks, because I like thunderstorms and rain.
Evening everyone, haven't had rain for along time, and the darned bubble is in alert-mode.
That was us this time last year. Consider: year-to-date rainfall this time last June was 14.06" but year-to-date rainfall today is 24.26". What a difference a year makes. 3.72" above normal vs. 6.08" below normal.

And to continue the discussion about Walgreens, we have them around here...somewhere. I've never been to one personally, though I have been to a CVS and we have Eckerds as well.

And the mowing is tomorrow. It will be a nice clear day with highs in the low 80s, which should be more than good enough for mowing. I'm looking forward to it.

No problem, Garrett.

Interesting... So, the final analysis shows that Walgreens aren't as common across the United States as those of us that see so many think.

CVS and Brooks are Rhode Island based drugstores. CVS is based in Woonsocket, RI. I am pretty sure that there are more CVS than Brooks across southern New England. (I believe overall there are more CVS' than there are Brooks).

Joshua, I would think you thinking you may lose your job and not losing is quite a relief. :) I wouldn't stress not finding work if you do indeed quit or are layed off for no fault of your own.

Springfield has an Osco Drug... we don't even have that. I use the Walmart Pharmacy. :grr: Never even heard of CVS or Brooks.

Well enough of my rant... for now. ;)

Evening porchians!

Some time has gone by since I was last able to set a spell, sure is nice to come and say HI!

My son's surgery went well, they removed the stones. He's still giving us a run for our money and adding to the gray hair on my head.He has been sick all week, unable to eat and keep liquids down...poor tyke.We went to the pediatrician today, they gave him a shot and some home medicine to help settle his stomach so we can keep him hydrated. So far so good, we counted two popsicles and two juice boxes, it's not near enough but right now we'll take anything.

Dennis...Isn't God AMAZING...He knows just what we need and sees that we get it exactly when we need it!!

Oh Steph, girl I am feeling for you....six weeks! Be glad...oh, so glad that it is not winter. The last time my hubby had surgery....eeekk, he about drove me crazy, men you know are like babies....no, worse than babies when they get sick or have boo-boos, sorry fellas, I'm sure some of you males are real big brave dudes! Saying prayers for Derby, hope he bounces back real soon!

Sandi....a mission trip to Russia.....Praise God! That sounds like a wonderful calling!! I'll lend my support with prayers for God to lead you on if that is His will...can't wait to hear more about it :D

Tom...I LOVE scrabble!! Greatest game ever invented!

Skyman....you give that sweetie a hug for me.I can hardly believe she will soon reach her first birthday, time sure flies! We'll be waiting for the latest pix, made room in the email box! What is going on with Cap'n midnight....for sure I'll be keeping him in prayer, but I'm afraid I don't know why, with everything going on with my son, I've been a bit neglegent in keeping in touch with him, drop me a mail when you get the chance.

Miss Mary, do enjoy your vacation, looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back! :D

shannon....congrats on finally hearing from your recruiter, that day has finally come!!

Furry, hi girl!! Glad to hear all is well for you and yours! If things work out for me up here I might be joining you on that sandy beach soaking up the rays!

Well time for me to hit the hay....early day tomorrow, have to get my youngest ready for her first ever girl scout camp experience. Our oldest left this morning for her GS camp trip to Ely,Minnesota, canoe vacation, anybody ever been there?

Take good care, have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings, Raine

Good Morning all............java is fresh and KK's are hot!!

More rain expected here today, my lordy, I feel like a duck!!

Raine, sure hope the "little tyke's" belly settles down some! But all in all, I am glad he is home and doing better! Thanks for the prayers for guidance!

Colin..........stop by more often, you may even be able to grab a KK while they are still hot!

I am heading out the door right now to go to Sam's Club to stock up on some food, fridge is kinda bare at the moment. I LOVE SAM"S!!

I hope everyone has a great saturday and for all those here in the "Sunshine State" keep your head above the water line!
