THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
EASTERN EDWARDS COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS.
NORTHWESTERN PRATT COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS.
SOUTHERN STAFFORD COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS.

* UNTIL 1130 PM CDT

* AT 1051 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS WERE
TRACKING A CONFIRMED LARGE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO 3 MILES
SOUTH OF HOPEWELL...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. ANOTHER STRONG
INDICATION OF A TORNADO WAS LOCATED 4 MILES NORTH OF TROUSDALE.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
HOPEWELL...
BYERS...
MACKSVILLE...
DILLWYN...
STAFFORD...
RURAL RESIDENCES OF EASTERN EDWARDS...NORTHWESTERN PRATT AND
SOUTHERN STAFFORD COUNTIES.

THIS INCLUDES HIGHWAY 50 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 170 AND 204.

THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING TORNADOES CAUSING SIGNIFICANT
DAMAGE!

WHEN A TORNADO WARNING IS ISSUED BASED ON DOPPLER RADAR...IT MEANS
THAT STRONG ROTATION HAS BEEN DETECTED IN THE STORM. A TORNADO MAY
ALREADY BE ON THE GROUND...OR IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP SHORTLY. IF YOU
ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS DANGEROUS STORM...MOVE INDOORS AND TO THE
LOWEST LEVEL OF THE BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. IF DRIVING...DO
NOT SEEK SHELTER UNDER A HIGHWAY OVERPASS.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. A
LARGE TORNADO HAS BEEN CONFIRMED!. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS

Unforunately, I think we haven't heard the worst. I hope I am wrong, but I think there will be quite a large number of fatalities. :cry:

That is all relative...it is still capable of strong to violent tornadoes.

The cell appears to be cycling. The new area of rotation is evident. In addition, two new reports have confirmed a large tornado on the ground.

AT 1107 PM CDT...A LARGE TORNADO REPORTED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT
TO BE UP TO A MILE WIDE WAS LOCATED 3 MILES EAST OF HOPEWELL

This cell is a beast.

Massive damage to 60 to 70 percent of Greensburg. Those needing to get out of Greensburg need to go to the park on the east side of town.
