On the current path, a close call is likely for St. John. As the new couplet is now intensifying, residents in the vicinity must take action now.

On a side note, a report from another site places the damage width at nearly two miles wide in Greensberg (Kansas).

A new image of the tornado (while near Greensberg) has been released. WOW!

This was an impressive wedge tornado!

That sounds like a tornado about 1 1/2 miles wide.

On its current course, the vortex will likely pass right over St. John. In addition, the tornado is likely rain-wrapped (per radar), preventing any visible view of the circulation. St. John has a population over 1,000 people. If this cell passes over St. John, the potential for large destruction is present.

This is a mind-numbing event. In addition, the tornadic cell is occurring at night.

There is one thing I will say: the MDT was appropriate. This is not widespread enough for a HIGH to verify.

Heavy, but not catastrophic, damage reported from Trousdale. Sounds like about an EF2.

Ambulances going from as far as Dodge City and Garden City to Greensburg. No reports from Macksville - sounds bad there too.

Motel "blown away" in Greensburg. That would be at least an EF4.

St. John has either been hit by now or it hasn't. I'm guessing it caught a bit of it. The velocity couplet went nearly right over it.
