I live in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was really watching this morning's forecasts, the high risk was off to the west, with a PDS tornado watch out for central NE as well as a mesoscale discussion putting south central NE at very high risk for tornadoes early in the afternoon. We headed out there and spent a few hours in the Minden/Holdredge area. It was strange, towers were constantly trying to go up, but they would immediately fall apart. The chase was a total bust, didn't even see a rain shower! Headed back to Lincoln around sunset.
I am curious what happened in that particular area holding back all of the development that was supposed to happen. On a slight or even MDT day I expect these kinds of busts, but this was the first time I'd chased a HIGH risk area without even hearing thunder or seeing hail.
