"Being outdoors is dangerous for a lot of people because of the poor air quality. It's only a matter of time before we have some serious fire problems if we don't start getting a lot of rain!"
You're right about that -- my asthma is really kicking up with all the smoke haze. Bad this morning. We really do need the rain.
Congratulations BellaRose!

For our area in Florida:
Public Information Statement
Statement as of 7:28 am EDT on May 8, 2007
... Smoke and atmospheric inversion create poor air quality this morning
across west central Florida...
Smoke from fires across southern Georgia and northern Florida have
combined with light surface winds and a atmospheric inversion
around 3500 feet to create a poor air quality this morning. Air
quality should improve aorund 10 am when the inversion is
expected to lift and allow winds to disperse the smoke.

There is flooding going on at Jupiter Inlet as well as Lake Worth Inlet from the forward surge of this system getting close to high tide. We are under Coastal flood warnings and even Fox news showed some of the flooding a short while ago.
Watch this webcam of Jupiter Inlet to see how it is coming in. High tide is between 1 & 2 pm eastern today so it will be worse around then.

Correction - this is the south shore of Lake Worth Inlet on the north end of Singer Island facing Peanut Island in the distance on the left. (that was a mouth full! )

The disturbance definitely looks a bit tighter and moving closer to Florida's east coast:

Looks like some impact to air travel as the western edge of the storm lies across the major north/south offshore route. While aircraft are still flying the route there is less than normal and all appear to be doing 35000 feet or better. There are also some intl birds coming ne to sw over the storm also above 35000 and one 737 direct from Atlanta to Bermuda going over the middle of it.

Perhaps you might be a little more thoughtful in the future when it comes to things that are so dear to others. This is a huge day for me and mine and in no way is my wishing for nice weather for one afternoon any indication of any lack of caring on my part to the fires, air quality, etc. I live here, too.
Maybe this will roll in hard, but completely miss roughly a 20 mile area around Clearwater. While we're fantasizing and wishing, we might as well do it so that everyone is happy.
I really DO hope that your day is special, but you may have to consider having the ceremony INdoors. Many people have weddings indoors and think of the day as one of their best days of their lives (me included). I am VERY concerned about thousands of people throughout Florida and south Georgia who are in jeopardy of losing their HOMES!
Let's hope that the storm will still dump rain over the state and exit well prior to your wedding. It appears that both are possible.

Spent most of the day filming the large pounding wave swells coming in from the low pressure storm off the southeast today. Crazy swell surge in Palm Beach County northward to Vero Beach. Here are some photos of the day.

Thanks Tampa Bay -
Yesterday was even better, as the winds went light offshore and a glassy northeast swell came rolling in. Here are some more photos from yesterday in Palm Beach County.
