Man I had some good heavy rain pass by this afternoon, it feels so nice outside right now. I wish we could have a storm like that every afternoon but sunshine and 0% chance of rain returns this weekend lasting all next week.

I'm glad to see that Florida is getting some rain today.

This is PURELY speculation on my part, but it does seem that anytime an area from the Gulf Coast up the Eastern seaboard gets into a drought situation, a tropical system is usually what stops it in its tracks. Floyd was that way for us up here. I know that the past few summers have been hot and dry in various areas along the Gulf and in Texas and then they get some kind of tropical system to end it all.

Usually a drought pattern brings less cloud cover and less shear in the gulf when there is a persistant ridge. As SST's heat up its only a matter of time before a tropical system starts to boil up and change the pattern.

This year the SST's in the northern gulf have been cooler than normal so it might be weeks before we get a tropical disturbance.

I've had .2" of rain in so far this month.
I would love a good soaker, but they are just passing us by.

There is a thunderstorm only a mile to my east. I can hear it booming, but its heading east. Such a teaser. :(

It has been raining like crazy in my part of Orlando for over an hour now. I have water standing in my yard and the street looks like a river. I am glad I am not having to deal with the rush hour traffic right now. I imagine it is moving pretty slow.

I was so close today, but no cigar. I've seen thunderstorm clouds 3 times today pass by.
