She defintely has a big future ahead of her.
Except for Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
I agree she has a big future. Not winning won't hurt her one bit. Daughtry, anyone?
I'm not shocked. Any of them had a chance to go, and I knew I'd be sad with whoever left. Melinda and Jordin are better singers, but Blake is a great entertainer and really appeals to the younger crowd. Yes, it is a singing competition, but it's called American Idol and Blake does have the whole package. I love his voice. I'm not saying the others don't, but well, you know.
I expect great things from all three of them.

It's just that everyone was so shocked to see her get kicked off you'd think she had the majority of the votes. And their ratings did go down so maybe this was a little stunt to pull them back up.southerngale wrote:Opal storm wrote:It really makes me wonder if this show is fixed.
Why? The judges and the producers love Melinda. They wouldn't benefit from fixing it so she'd leave.
I'm sure the votes were very close. All three of them have a LOT of fans.
I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy.

Well said Kelly. I agree that Blake and Jordin both have the whole package. Melinday has a HUGE future ahead of her, but not as an AI. She is absolutely incredible as a singer, but she is not the total package AI. I do think based on singing she should have been in the final, but the "fans" thought otherwise. Actually no matter what, all 3 of them have HUGE futures in the entertainment industry ahead of them.

They'd benefit tremendously. Some media sources had gotten wind of some leaks out of the inner circles of Idol this week.
At least 2 sources who work for or closely with the show say that the producers have decided that Jordin will win. The information also included that Blake was to be kicked off this week, leaving the two most popular standing. Major media sources hadn't dug deeper with this yet. Therefore, getting rid of Melinda would benefit two ways:
1) Makes the Blake claim look untrue.
2) Jordin will win the votes next week.
It sounds a bit like a conspiracy theory, but the producers make no claim that the votes will definitely decide the winner and they also reserve the right to stop voting at any time. No vote counts have ever been released and media requests to have vote totals has been denied. On top of that, there have been several instances of calls for a certain contestant not going through in the past, then that contestant being kicked off the last night. I know the night before Sanjaya got kicked off, the blogosphere lit up with people saying their votes for him were not going through.

Well, I did know about all that, but I just didn't buy it. I check out Idolforums and they're full of conspiracy theories, right down to who is in the middle of pictures when it's all 3 of them, etc. I perceived it as paranoia since they're suspicious of everything. I remember that about Sanjaya, but I hear about people not being able to get their calls through all the time. I thought something was up when I was at my parent's house trying to vote from there. It turned out that the calls wouldn't go through from her digital phone. I think there's logical explanations for stuff like that, but that's just me. Obviously I could be wrong, but I just don't believe all that.

That's what I was thinking. Especially when Simon declared he wanted her in the finale.
