That seems like judging CMWRO to me. I was told S2K also did this when it fist started out. I dont want to argue but as a member of CMWRO I just felt I needed to defend the site. I would not be a member of the site if it did do anything like this. At one time months ago there was some of this going on and it was put to a end because of a few people including myself being unhappy with it. Now we just invite friends and that is it.

Have a nice day my friends.

Storm2k grew by word of mouth, search engines, etc. It was slow going at first. We didn't mass PM spam other weather boards. We've worked hard to grow a reputable site where people can post comfortably in a friendly atmosphere. Reputation has earned Storm2k a prominent place in the internet weather world come Hurricane Season.

The owners here should be very proud to have built something worthwhile, without trying to tear down someone else's work. I'm proud to be a part of it.

Anyone using our PM system to mass SPAM people will end up banned from this site. That's already happened to two people in the last couple of days. The one this morning, AEPP sent over 300 PM's. I hardly call that just asking friends.

I'm sorry. I just dont think getting 4 email messages from CMRWO within 3 days is acceptable. I finally got tired of the messages that I have blocked them. And now, I got a message here for them. Sorry guys and gals over there, you dont have a new member in me.

Thanks Tom. If anyone here wants to post at a Canadian board about the tropics I hope they have fun. I do wish them luck building their board but I won't have them use this board to do it.

Okies, I need to step back from this and figure out what's going on. I enjoy seeing some familiar faces, but something is amiss with this entire situation. I just got the one message, but clearly other folks have received many more.

Folks there is an option in your profile to make your e-mail address private or public. If you don't want other board members to see your e-mail address just make it private. Board Admins and Mods have access either way.

Yesterday I got the email from storm2k telling me that I had a new PM ( I have it set that way...
I deleted the email, came over here to see who the PM was from, no one that I knew, so I just deleted it like I do any message that I don't know. No big deal, but I have been doing the internet for a very long time, and am used to things like that.

I went ahead and signed up to this site that spammed us......just to check it all out....I enjoy alot of different perspectives. A few minutes ago I attempted to log in to the site and was informed I had been banned.

So I sent Frank some money.

I got one of those PM's too.

Sorry spammy Mcgee, my loyalties are here. And frankly, I find it quite sad that somebody has nothing better to do with their time then to spam other sites.

And as for not liking how things are going around here. I don't know what these clowns are talking about. I think the staff here does a fantastic job.

I got the same PM from aepp last night. I in turn notified Chad about it. I haven't a clue who aepp is, so I can't be his/her friend.

Needless to say, I haven't taken up the offer to join CWMRO, but I'm keeping the PM for evidence (in case there's an investigation)!

I think I saw Pojo, Lindaloo and some other Storm2k members on that forum too.

I think S2K should take care of the actions with a simple thread that states that the spam problem has been stopped if that is what happened. I don't think it is very professional to have this thread here. Just my 2 cents...

The issue has never been whether or not people belong to more than one board. I think I'm a member of 5 or 6 myself :-) The issue is people using S2K to advertise and solicit members for another board. AEPP knew that sending mass unsolicited PM's was considered SPAM and was against the rules. He chose to disregard the rules of the board and paid the price. If someone isn't happy posting here then I recommend they go find a place where they are. The most important thing is that they get the information they need when they need it.
