well, as we all can see the LLC is naked!! It almost looks like the LLC is moving ENE or almost east. Shear has really overtaken the system now more than ever it seems!

Classic symptom for a early season Storm.

Also note the LLC appears to be moving more ENE than NNE. It's moving with the lower-level steering. 18Z GFDL puts it inland south of Tampa now, though there may not be much weather associated with the center at landfall.

low has been "meandering to the NE/ENE about 55 degrees last couple hours

http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/radar.ph ... x&loop=yes

it has just crossed 85W as of 24:15 utc

it is now moving in line with the shear again and i would look for some storms to pop near center again

Barry 2001, it formed off the north side of a tropical wave,,,in formed a LLC once it passed through the key's. Then it slowly moved westward for about 2-3 days as a very weak system. Then it strengthen close to hurricane strength as it was moving at the coast. Barry likes the gulf.

Well I'm glad to maybe have been right about one thing with Barry ... I thought it would head more easterly than the forecast track.

Some nice chutney for my crow. ;-)

Goofy statement right now on TWC:

With the exception of Wilma and Charley, the west coast of Florida has been spared recently.

(Stephanie Abrams)

That's a pretty big exception, I'd say.

Tropical Storm Barry Sat Pics...

Stephanie's statement that except for those 2 hurricanre, the w. coast has been spared lately reminds me of the old saying, "Except for that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?"

Certainly is exposed as visable fades. No deep convection near the defined swirl either. Barry will need to refire soon to keep his name..
