what if a Cat. 5 hit Houston? (video)

#1 Postby Extremeweatherguy » Mon Jun 04, 2007 1:32 pm

I found this interesting video on youtube today. It talks about what would happen if a storm like Hurricane Mitch (Cat. 5) hit SE Texas. It also talks a bit about Allison. It is a few years old (pre-2005), but it is worth watching if you live in the Houston area...

very interesting.

I have been searching for the weather channels "It could happen tomorrow" about a hurricane hitting Savannah, Ga. Can't find it anywhere.

If a Cat 5 comes into Houston..... Hurry up and buy up some of that nice new beachfront property just on the East edges of Austin

Disclaimer: 50% of the time I have no clue of what I am talking about. Chances are I am taking a less than educated guess that sounds good because 10 years ago I stole Mike Watkins book 'The Hurricane and its Impact'. For official information please direct yourself to the NHC and their cadre of weather geniuses.

Scary stuff! If we have a Gilbert or Rita hit Houston, it will be horrible.
