Well Wendy, if that moves over us, we are in for quite a soaking.

This area does look a bit interesting IMO. Not saying it will develop but it's been persistent through out the day and looks to be growing.

Looks like Florida is in for much more rain if that blob doesn't dissipate.

This system appears to be an impulse associated with a mid-level jet streak. The strong divergence (and weak sfc convergence) has enhanced heavy precipitation across the Gulf and southern Florida. It's particularly evident in the latest visible loop. This is a great setup for rain across south Florida. We definitely need additional relief.
On a side note, I wonder if we would have seen development (if shear relaxed). There are some hints of low-level vorticity, and there is a strong sfc ridge to the north. Although I definitely don't expect development, the low pressures are intriguing, too. I have a suspicion that we may have seen subtropical development (ala Barry) if conditions were more conducive for rotation to develop.
Although some of the heavier cells moved offshore, more precipitation is on the way to the Keys and southern peninsula. Look at the Miami radar.

Hey Wendy, my pool is still full from Barry! LOL! I didn't bother draining it yet because I knew we wouldn't get rain for awhile and it looks like your S. FL system isn't going to drift any further north.

Let it rain......Let it rain....... Let it rain.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 years ago we had over 11 inches in June and I hope we top it this month.
Because we can easily go to eaterly flow and a cut off of the summer moisture from the sea breezes and back to no rain real quickly.
Hopefully this is the 2nd of many systems to fill the resevoirs and green up our burned out lawns.....
