Child of the Solstice
Child of the Solstice
Like a Bactrian Camel
These tropical troughs and ridges,
Nessie undulating,
Just beneath the surface.
Diving trough, rising ridge,
Rolling together
In unison,
As One.
Anacondas in love,
In a ball.
Cancer and Capricorn
Giving birth,
Life in a new form.
Chantal
Coming forth,
Where the Sun meets Cancer,
In western waters.
Child of the Solstice,
Summer storm,
Girl of Great Heart
Turn and look at us,
Look to the North.
We long to see with the eye,
A form and beauty
Which can only be grasped
With the heart.
Selena, Janis, and Charmaine,
Fire from within,
They know of that
Burning Heart,
And they also long for you.
Grace us
With your passion,
The Heart of the Lioness
At the Solstice Eve.
Like a Bactrian Camel
These tropical troughs and ridges,
Nessie undulating,
Just beneath the surface.
Diving trough, rising ridge,
Rolling together
In unison,
As One.
Anacondas in love,
In a ball.
Cancer and Capricorn
Giving birth,
Life in a new form.
Chantal
Coming forth,
Where the Sun meets Cancer,
In western waters.
Child of the Solstice,
Summer storm,
Girl of Great Heart
Turn and look at us,
Look to the North.
We long to see with the eye,
A form and beauty
Which can only be grasped
With the heart.
Selena, Janis, and Charmaine,
Fire from within,
They know of that
Burning Heart,
And they also long for you.
Grace us
With your passion,
The Heart of the Lioness
At the Solstice Eve.

hmmmm. Are you now expecting Chantal to form on the summer Solstice or on the Tropic of Cancer. I'm leaning toward the later. From the poem, I expect a small, yet powerful storm forming at the Tropic of Cancer moving north towards LA/TX (another Poem) under the influence of a trough and ridge.

How is this off topic? It's as good as any prediction made on this board, just a little artsy.
I agree.
Do I sense a little envy or jealousy here?

At least he's not making you write an essay about it.

I am enjoying these poems, I must admit. I'm not worrying too much about predictions at this point, as the storm in question hasn't even begun to form yet. I'm just enjoying them. I don't think it matters much where they are at this point. There isn't really much of anything happening right now. Even if there were, I'm not sure it really matters that much. They don't take up much space.

Destructions, I make "regular predictions" in prose all the time. I participate regularly in threads started by others and I constantly give my opinions there. Now, I would never post a poem that has nothing to do with tropical weather. This poetry is centered around the tropics. And often times as in the last one "Child of the Solstice", I do give real concrete information about what I believe in the form of a poem. Look closely at "Child of the Solstice", there are many indications about what I believe that others on this board have deciphered and pointed out in this thread. Actually, I'm finding it easier to speak about this living thing we call the tropics in verse. The science of it almost seems to do it injustice. I hope my poetry doesn't offend anyone. I am including relevant beliefs and opinions about tropical weather in almost everyone. Finally, I have already agreed to stop posting my poetry here once the situation is more active. In other words, if we have an imminent storm I'll revert back to "plain speak".
