Central Florida... the heat is on.... any storms today??

#1 Postby tbstorm » Sat Jun 09, 2007 2:42 pm

A tribute to Glenn Fry perhaps.

Looks like the t'storm coverage of yesterday is long past. Cu Field is shut down on the Pinellas Coast, and North of Orlando not a cloud in the sky.

Let's see if we can get some storms cookin' cuz the temps are.

At my house, the shaded temperature hit 100 as well,
though along the water near the recording station, it was
88 degrees.

LOL I wished I lived closer to the beach...but now the seabreeze has
cooled me off to around 89 degrees. It was much hotter earlier.

The past few days seem the hottest so far this year. If your going to be outside I would want to be near some sort of water.....beach, pool, or spring.

I moved my thermometer to a cooler area of my house today
because I thought yesterday's reading at my station was too
high...yesterday I hit 100 but that was too high...it might have
been influenced by driveway heat...

My thermometer sits in the shade above some bushes, one of the cooler spots.

I brought my thermometer in...seems to be acting weird
so I'm just going to monitor the Wunderground stations:
http://www.wunderground.com/US/FL/Saint_Petersburg.html

What is it at your station?

lol I have an old thermometer. It seems pretty accurate still. I have one in the backyard and it is new and it is in the shade and it was reading about the same. about 91 now.
