I view this as a negative article. It says weather experts are worrying about message boards because readers have no idea of the credentials and expertise of the writer. This article also has misinformation about storm2k. It says only people with verified weather knowledge can start a thread on storm2k. I know this is incorrect because I can start a thread, yet I have no expertise in the field of weather. Perhaps they were talking about the tropical analysis section, but they made it sound like storm2k will only allow posts from professionals.chadtm80 wrote:http://www.thestate.com/living/story/73599.html

That's Typhoon Hunter, isn't it?
His dream job is to go around the United States, "presenting severe weather with a British accent".

There's no such thing as "bad press", unless you are a serial killer or similar.

well that's neat. I don't think vast members of the public are in any danger from storm2k.. as was somewhat insinuated. People really do seek out information from multiple sources. I hope that people aren't using this place's information to make really important decisions... that would be dangerous and foolhardy.
