BOC Blow up

#1 Postby tailgater » Mon Jun 18, 2007 8:22 am

I have been thinking this was one area to watch since the invest went up for 94L I think it's the tail end of that trough that has cross over into the BOC.
All most no shear.

Some low level vorticity.

It seems to be just a small area of thunderstorms - the rest of the tropics look very quiet in this photo:

Yes Frank there's a huge double barrel high over the Atlantic tropics that will likely squash anything out there for a while. I was just stating these are about the best conditions in our region and maybe something to watch.

The surface trough has been drifting west with convection flaring up then diminishing as the trough continues west. This will be the last chance in the Atlantic for that energy to start something.

I was going to post about that area myself this morning. It does look interesting
but more than likely won't amount to much.

Check out the little baby swirl at 20.3N 93.2W, if you go the GHCC and zoom in and put about 10 frames in motion you will see a eddy spining pretty quickly that should'nt be a threat because it'll be inland tonite.
