MUCH needed rain coming to the South!

From the Mobile AFD...
AT THIS TIME...AM STILL EXPECTING MOST AREAS TO RECEIVE AT LEAST ONE
INCH OF RAINFALL IN THE MON->WED TIME FRAME...WITH POTENTIAL 2-4 INCH
AMOUNTS WHERE THUNDERSTORMS PERSISTENTLY ADVECT OVER THE SAME AREA
LOCALLY. NOT A `DROUGHT BUSTER`...BUT EVERY EVENT HELPS. THIS AMOUNT
OF RAINFALL HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY SUPPORTED BY THE SREF BOTH IN
TERMS OF MEAN AREAL AMOUNTS AND CORRESPONDING PROBABILITY OF
OCCURRENCE. ON THIS PACKAGE...MAX TEMPS WERE LOWERED A BIT ON WED TO
REFLECT NEW TIMING ADJUSTMENTS. OTRW...NO CHANGES. STUCK WITH MAV MOS
ON MIN TEMPS AND NUDGED 10-20% ABOVE MAV MOS DURG THE ABOVE DESCRIBED
"WET" TIME FRAME. OVERALL...IT LOOKS LIKE THINGS ARE PRETTY MUCH ON
TRACK.

Well I sure hope this pans out, especially for northern and central Alabama. It won't put a end to the drought but at least some relief is very welcomed.

I know!!!! The last time we had an inch of rain or more was on MARCH 1st, the day the tornado hit Enterprise. Very hard to believe. I'm really looking forward to this...

No rain here yet, but there is a 60% chance today.

It looks like a few thunderstorms might be working this way. *fingercross*

We had a good rain here.....had some winds coming out of the southwest. For a short period the rainfall was torrential.......now it's just a slow soaking drizzle. It's a gift. We sure have been dry.....they consider my area as in an extreme drought. This rain will not change the numbers statistically that much.....but it felt good enough to go out an stand in rainfall....!!!!!! I'm sure my neighbors were saying.."look at that damn Yankee out there standin in the rain"......

It rained a bit here, not much. A half hour later you couldn't even tell. *sigh*

I've been getting a steady moderate rainfall for a few hours now, and more coming from the SE out of the Gulf.

We had a nice soaking right at lunch time and it looked like enough energy was present in the ATM to push showers into Central MS and AL!!!! (aka... the areas that need it)

We've gotten nearly a half inch!

But other areas of MS that needed it even more have gotten 1-2 inches, and isolated areas of more!

Its very dreary outside. I hope we get a strong rain here. We probably wont have a seabreeze today.

I hear thunder and see dark clouds to the west. It better get here soon because the humidity is melting me. I can hardly breathe. Of course it will mean I'm outside working in the rain, but...

Another rain event afternoon here.....the morning started out partly cloudy with a few sprinkles......by 2PM the bottom fell out. After the morning sprinkles the humidity soared.....the clouds came in out of the northwest....similar to our usual spring storms. No complaints. It's nice. Except for our local sewer system that has maxed out. I have had to open our lower sewer valve to release back pressure. Front driveway is flooded. The rear lawns and pasture are absorbing the moisture. All is well!

Only 0.51" here. Rather disappointing. Some places in the northern half of the state got a lot less though(even only a trace in some spots!), while South Alabama and far North Georgia are getting dumped on(1-2 inches). Very uneven distribution.

Storm total here around 0.75.

Areas south of here actually received over 4 inches of rain!

I had a torrential downpour between 7:45-8:15 which I haven't checked again but I'm sure dropped about a half inch so I think the total will be close to an inch at least. That's it though... may not have anymore rain for the rest of the month.

Only 0.04" at Anniston and even less in some spots. I feel lucky.
