During that time, me and my family was at Church. We had a power outage there when we were learning sign language at around 10:50AM. Don't know if it's weather-related or not, but luckily it lasted no more than 30 minutes.

Also, this is the first day of the Muscular Dystrophy Summe Camp in Meridian, TX, and already, it's a washout. Hopefully, camping activities there will resume tomorrow when the storm system leaves the region. Of course, the National Weather Service has extended and enlarged the Flash Flood Watch to include the following Counties: Anderson, Bosque, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Freestone, Grayson, Henderson, Hill, Hopkins, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufma, Lamar, Limestone, Navarro, Parker, Rains, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Van Zandt. This watch will expire at 6:00AM CDT.

This is no way to start off the morning. Last night, a thunderstorm was developing in Comanche County and was slowly moving Northeast through the DFW area. Northern Tarrant Countyhas received up to 6 inches of rain while DFW Int'l Airport got an inch. Plus, at 4:00AM CDT, TORNADO WARNINGS were issued for Cooke and Denton Counties after several wind shear marks were reported on Doppler Radar. Both were allowed to expire over an hour ago, but a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING remains in effect for Cooke County until 7:30AM CDT, and now a FLASH FLOOD WARNING goes in effect for Cooke and Grayson Counties until 9:15AM CDT. Also, Tornado Watch #415 goes in effect for Cooke, Fannin, Grayson, and Lamar Counties until Noon. Those mentioned Counties as well as Denton, Collin, Hunt, and Delta Counties are also under a Flash Flood Watch expiring at Noon. A lot of significant flood damage was reported in Haltom City where a few mobile homes exploded due to the fact that the flood waters lifted the mobile homes off of their foundation and gas supplies, resulting in gas leaks. There have been many injuries, but no deaths have been reported so far, but 4-year-old Alexandria life hangs in the balance after she was swept away by flood waters. So again, a rough way to start off the day. We'll still be seeing isolated on and off storms throughout the week and the threat of flooding will more than likely continue.

Flooding rains continue as the storm that formed by Gulf Moisture moving North through the North Texas was bounced back south as it intensified to severe limits. Earlier this morning, a 4-year-old girl named Alexandria Collins was swept away by flood waters from her mother, Natasha Collins after the rescue boat capsized. Unfortunately, Alexandria's life was cut short after her body was found at 7:30AM CDT. The residents of Haltom City and Gainesville say that this situation was getting to the point where they had enough torrential rains, and enough is TOO MUCH now.

Amtrak's Train departure from Oklahoma City to Fort Worth has been postponed due to the North Texas flooding. Instead, 50 passengers took 2 buses to Fort Wo0rth according to the Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation staff. Also, authorities in Gainesville are searching for 2 young girls believed to have been washed away in a mobile home by flooding.

The cleanup continues for the cities of Gainesville, Sherman, Trophy Club, and Haltom City after 6 top 8 inches of water caused destruction and 5 deaths. Hundreds were left homeless and some animals are still missing; however, at a Gainesville area Zoo, all of their animals were rushed to safety. This is indeed the worst flooding in years in the North Texas area, that's why these cities will be declared Disaster areas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning a $717,000 project to clear channel obstructions, improve water flow and reduce flood damages according to WFAA-TV.

Otherwise, we'll continue to see isolated showers and thunderstorms throughout the region until Friday.

You're right about one thing, Brent. The same areas that got flooding a couple of days ago don't seem to get any floods today, however, Fannin and Grayson Counties are the next major concern after FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS are issued for those areas. The squall line that was projected to hit the DFW area at around 5:50AM CDT fell apart before reaching the metroplex. Although Severe Thunderstorm Watch #426 remains in effect for areas in and along a Gainesville, Bonham, Corsicana, Meridian to Fort Worth circle until 9:00AM CDT. Severe Thunderstorm Watch #427 is in effect for extreme southern and eastern areas of North Texas until Noon CDT. Also, a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the Northwestern 1/3rd of North Texas including DFW until 1:00PM CDT. This wet trend will continue until the first day of Summer.

The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Watch for the Northern 1/4 of North TX until 7:00PM CDT. This includes the counties of Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Lamar, Montague, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise. The watch was scheduled to expire over an hour ago, but according to the current forecast maps, we have a large area of High Pressure covering the western US. Another large High Pressure cap is settled in the Southeastern US States. With those in place, the upper level disturbances have nowhere to go, and THAT'S no way to start a summer.

Looks like a derecho(?) hit Wichita Falls yesterday morning (it didn't look all that spectacular on radar but still had 95 mph winds). There is considerable damage there but only 16,000 lost power at the peak...

Flooding rains is the last thing we need. A metrorologist from ABC affiliate WFAA-TV said that the days we get potentially heavy rainfall will be on Tuesday and Wednesday. On this final day of camping activities at Camp John Marc in Meridian, TX and Camp Wisdom in Dallas, TX; everything seems to be smooth sailing, but near the Red River at Gainesville, it's a whole different story. Hopefully, the rain will be all gone by July 4th.

It's amazing. For the past 2 years, we were dying for some rain in the region, and now, we should've been careful what we wished for, cause some of us now has TOO MUCH of rain.

I can hardly believe we went from parching drought one year to excessive rainfall the next .It seems to be an either,or situation with Texas. I have never witnessed this much rainfall in a season and I have lived here for 7 years.Bracing for whatever comes next week.

It's been feast or famine for sure. I feel for those affected by the flooding, but you won't hear(or read) me complaining about the rain we're seeing. I know all too well that it could change and go the other way quickly. Hopefully all this rain and green vegetation means a below normal temperate summer. By this time last year, the only reason I had to cut my grass was to make sure the gas didn't gum up in the carburetor.
