Thanks...Na...Looks like it will stay a wave. 0Z GFS doesn't develop it. Model does show deep tropical moisture surging to Texas and Louisiana next week.

Darnit! My son just closed on his first home and I started painting the exterior today (previous owner had it painted Ti++y Pink) . Looks like I'd best kick the ole paint brush in overdrive if I'm going to beat the rain AGAIN. Our soils are completely saturated as it is. Today is the first day it hasn't rain in a week.

Hurricane Season Cancelled...Wouldn't suprise me one bit if we had a year like last year. I'm not educated on all of the forecast models like most on here, but it seems that if the season were going to be busy, some kind of tropical system of at least a tropical storm would have shown up by now...

People still base hurricane season on 2005.Last year was below average. The UK calls for 10 storms. These are just predictions. Under neutral conditions I think an above average year is expected.

Yes, it is June 21st...I do have a calendar...Thanx  . What I was referring to was that the Caribbean isn't "heating up" at this time, just a little system that will probably poof in the next 24 hours.

June and July are not good months to judge a season. For example, on 2004 the first depression of the season formed on July 31st, and the season had at the end 15 system, well above average and with four hurricanes impacting Florida. In 1997 by the end of July the season had already 5 systems, including 2 hurricanes, but at the end the season ended with 8 storms. Years like 2005 are very uncommon. It's not normal to start active early and continue being active the entire season. Usually seasons can start early but then the end is slow, or start very slow and have a very big finish. That's why I don't averages because every season must be treated differently.

So, concerning the location and speed of rain mass "early next week" in SE TX/W LA, is it a one or two bon-bon box event? A read through "Texas Monthly" or grab "War and Peace?"

Funny how you should say that.... in 2005 Bret did not form until June 28. In 2004 there was absolutely nothing until July 31.
