The swirl does look like it is moving south at a fairly good clip, but it remains to be seen whether shear will be significantly less if it moves to the south.

Re: Low press. off/on FL coast
Statement as of 11:30 am EDT on June 22, 2007
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico...
The area of low pressure located about 100 miles off the East Coast
of northern Florida is producing disorganized shower and
thunderstorm activity that extends a few hundred miles eastward
into the Atlantic. Upper-level winds remain unfavorable for
tropical cyclone formation.
Cloudiness and showers over the western Caribbean Sea and portions
of Central America are associated with a westward-moving tropical
wave. The shower activity has mostly diminished this morning and
significant development of this system is not anticipated.
Elsewhere...tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the
next 48 hours.

Its dark here. I give the shuttle landing a 10% chance right now for landing at KSC.

I've seen worse looking little lows. Hopefully the WSW flow it seems to be generating across S. Florida will spur some afternoon storms this way.

what is the shear values over the area ranging from fort pierce thru northern bahamas?
this low could be there (northwest bahamas) later this evening and flaring again maybe a last chance

thanks for link i will save it still i wish i could see a shear loop because even the maps you provided leave some questions unanswered but this is the map i was looking for anyway
also to ammend my last post i'm not so sure the low is moving to the south that much maybe a drift-3 miles an hour

Re: Low press. off/on FL coast
last hour seems to have started nudging on a generally SSE movement
here we go, this has about the same odds of developing into a named system as the marlins do of winning the world series? what does that mean?
small yes, but more than you think

Nice naked LLC but no convection over it. Shear is very strong...Maybe I was wrong to say it was more favorable then normal. It appears that it switched to more unfavorable, which is normal...But that also go's to say that the season won't get going for another few weeks or months at that.

would not count it out yest.. shear is forecast to lighten and the LLC or low cloud swirl which by the way is till well defined is moving south again in to a 10 kt shear environment .. and it is expected to decrease or the next 12 hour down to near five kt.. now im not saying believe this has a chance i just never say never till its gone.... oh and the mid level dry air that has been plaguing it will also moisten up
