Tropical Storm Claudette (1979) Satellite Image Found
After trying to look for a satellite image of Tropical Claudette in 1979, I have found it finally. Claudette dumped up to 43 inches of rain near Alvin. Not the best image, but I am glad I found it.

Sure is. It made landfall with 45 mph winds. TS Claudette was in and out between tropical storm, tropical depression, and tropical wave. There were several centers before it hit Texas. Looks like you know your Dvorak Technique. How do they use that technique on satellite images?

I found some new GOES image of Claudette from 1979. Here are satellite images from July 25-26, 1979, when 43 inchrs of rain fell near Alvin.

Sorry to bump again. The same site that has all the satellite images uploaded more satellite images, this time over America. Check SMS-2, better known as GOES-2.

It sure looks like a massive tropical storm, like Frances (1998).
