Welcome to GhccSat by Michael Bryson. This software is free to the public and is intended as a compliment to the NASA-GHCC Online GOES Server.
It works hand-in-hand with their server by emulating a web browser's interaction with their online CGI. The important difference is that this software will download the images and save them to your hard-drive as well as display them as loops. So, for instance, say that you want to see a loop of the Southeast US from their CONUS satellite view. From their web page, you would select your settings and click somewhere on their overview map and then wait for all the frames to be downloaded and displayed., BUT, say you close down your browser and then an hour later you wish to see that area again. You would have to wait for every frame to be downloaded again. With this software, only the NEW images would need downloaded because any image previously downloaded will already be present on your hard-drive with a nice dated filename. GhccSat also includes TIMER downloading, FULLSCREEN and a Speed/Distance/Direction calculator.
