As per the above satellite view you can better put into perspective the deeper SAL in respect to the TW.

A good perspective. As you can see, that leading edge of the SAL is moving quickly to the west, leaving an area to be filled by moisture, which is occuring around 20N/30W right now, and hopefully further south as the dry air continues to propogate westward. Meanwhile, this dying wave can possibly serve as a sacrificial lamb for the wave behind it . . . though it sure isn't looking too impressive right now . . .

I have noticed in the GFS runs lately, That starting next week there will be some very strong waves coming off the africian coast but none of them develop a centeral low pressure.

The sacrificial lamb may very well be the one the paves the way for the
stronger vorticies which will begin to come off the COA in the not to distant future. The next couple weeks will prove very crucial in the MDR.

Personally, I believe this wave does not stand a chance. Mid-level dry air is quite inhibitive, and the weak sfc low is exposed. The convective cap (SAL) is strong, too. The timeline (late June) is not on its side. It will likely deterioriate into a mid-level swirl as the axis moves westward. In addition, a trough may enhance vertical and sub-horizontal shear ahead of the system.

If the wave axis does survive to the Caribbean, there are no guarantees that it will develop. I would wait until July, and I would be more aggressive with a well-defined system under more favorable dynamics (like the recent Caribbean system).

We need to be watchful of the pattern which seem to be developing, though we've heard varied reports in terms of total storm activity and the obvious troughs and upper lows etc, the constant progression of low lat waves seem to be setting up similaly to what we saw in 04.
We in Barbados and Saint Lucia and the rest of the Eastern Caribbean need to be on guard.

Ah, someone else has noticed this too. I thought maybe I was seeing things. The low lat waves eventually do make it across and that does not bode well for the islands and/or the GOM usually. I hoep nothng comes of this.
