Thank goodness those storms fell apart pretty quickly last night, huh Yankee?! I got up this morning to sun, and by 8:00 it was blinding sheets of sideways rain, and my plumerias falling over on the patio. Been coming down ever since to varying degrees. Crossing my fingers for no flooding today or tomorrow.

I just had a nice, sudden gust front come through here. Probably some gusts up to around 40mph or so for 1-2 minutes.

Whatever happened to our very wet week that was forecasted only yesterday? There has been no rain in sight all day today and there's barely any clouds out right now. As of Sunday night/Monday we had a 60-70% rain chance for today. The rest of the week we have 20-30% chances of rain which is just a normal summertime pattern around here. I wonder what changed? Hopefully the southeast will start receiving more rainfall as they sure do need it.

Sorry - I have been SLAMMED at work so far this week. I've kept an eye on things but I haven't been very concerned yet. It'll be interesting to see what the next wave brings later this week. OH - .80" yesterday.

This has been happening more often this year. Are the Models not performing well, is there too much reliance on models?

Once it gets closer to our area, it should settle down a lot, since the atmosphere in our area is pretty stable right now(at least according to Frank B.)

Never know about these storms. They can hold together sometimes. We will just wait and see. I think they will more than likely weaken.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
1000 PM CDT TUE JUN 26 2007

.UPDATE...
BAND OF STORMS CONTINUE TO MOVE SOUTHEAST AND SHOULD MOVE INTO THE
NORTHWEST ZONES. HAVE RAISED POPS AND QPF INCLUDING THE MENTION OF
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL. COULD SEE SOME VERY INTENSE RAINFALL RATES
WHERE THE STORMS MOVE/FEED IN FROM THE SOUTHWEST MERGE WITH THE
MCS SAGGING SOUTHEAST. LLJ PROGGED TO REMAIN ANCHORED WITH DECENT
THETAE ADVECTION INTO THIS FEATURE. NEW NAM DOESN`T APPEAR TO HAVE
A CLUE AS TO THIS FEATURE AT THE SURFACE THOUGH AT 850 IT DOES
DEPICT SOME TROUGHINESS...NOT MUCH HELP THERE.

I wonder if the NWS will quickly put up a flood watch tonight?
I love that line in BOLD text
