Gulf low?

#1 Postby Nimbus » Sun Jul 01, 2007 8:39 am

There is an upper level 1018 mb high mid gulf with a ship report of 1012 MB surface pressure near 28N 89W?

Anyone heard any speculation about development?

That 1018 high is a surface high. Not upper. There's a shortwave trough aloft over (at least part of) the Gulf right now. Let me know if I can clarify.

You can't rely on ship reports too much, area buoys are reporting pressures way higher than that, on this morning 1km sat loop does not indicate like any low pressure center trying to develop in that area.
