Has anyone here ever brought in caterpillars from outside to raise in the house? I do that every now and then when I find some on my plants. It's amazing to watch them hatch out of their chrysalis. After they come out,
their wings are all shriveled up. They have to hang upside down and flap their wings in order for the fluids to drain into their wings. This process takes anywhere from 3-4 hours, they can't fly until then. :o Since I can't have hummers, I settle for butterflies. :D You can't always get what you want, so you have to take what you can get.

You would never make it in Florida Brenda! We have more creepy crawlies than you can imagine! :-)

My daughters class at school is making a butterfly garden. They've grown an area of flowers and have raised butterflies to introduce to the garden.
