It snowed over a large part of the country in fact - friends of mine in Cordoba and Jujuy both said it snowed there too. That's really amazing considering the long distance it is from Bs As to Jujuy, it wasn't just a localized event. I don't think most people realize how incredibly rare that is - it would be like it snowing everywhere along the Gulf Coast from Corpus Christi to Tampa. They also had a hard freeze in some areas after that, a low of 22F in Cordoba was the coldest since the freeze of July 2000.

It snows in the eastern Carolinas almost every year, and sticks every few years. The snow in Buenos Aires would be more comparable to snow in Central-South Florida.

Like when Miami got a dusting of snow in January 1977?

No, there was accumulation in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. Some towns in the Great Buenos Aires got 8 inches of snow in the ground.
