Re: SE TX / SW LA Discussion - Decent Chance of Rain
What a morning! It's been pouring for nearly 2 hours under the Dome this morning, but looks like we're about to get a good break. Great sleeping weather.

Well, we made it through the outdoor party yesterday without a drop of rain!
We were there from 3:00 until about 8:30 or so and it was hot and muggy, but no rain. It did rain some later last night, and we've gotten some pretty hefty storms this morning, with more on the way, but I was so glad the party wasn't ruined.
You're right, Jen... great sleeping weather. However, thunder is what woke me up earlier. lol
Jason, were you still able to grill yesterday?
Nice pic, Texas Sam!

Re: SE TX / SW LA Discussion - Decent Chance of Rain
Looks like the Lafayette dome is set up nicely with this event, I've hardly seen a trace of rain while all other areas have easily picked up 1-2" with much more in some places. The thunderstorms out there right not break up as they try to move in and all we get are a few sprinkles. With all the current rain and cloud clover out there I would expect things to begin to taper off because the atmosphere is stable. At least the heat has left for a few days.

We managed 0.97" out of the storms this morning, whcih served as my alarm and woke me up. Nothing spectacular, just a good old Texas soaker with thunder and lightning.
Jason, good to hear you got your festivities in!!

You guys in Houston must have gotten alot of rain this morning. My 16 yr old daughter let yesterday with some friends and parents to attend a Warp Tour concert at Reliant Park today, she called and said it was cancelled until tomorrow. Much of really pissed off teenagers that have to come hom cause their parents work. Still waiting to hear what their group is gonna do, she actualyl thought I would let her stay there and let the parents come home and she would come home with someone else, yeah right!!!!

Yeah right!!! No way. My daughter turns 3 on July 27th. There aint no way I would go for that. I have a long road ahead with my daughter. Tere are many rules to be followed down the road which we have already started. Kids think their parents are not smart and that's where they are very wrong.

I know the feeling Katdaddy. My girls are 3 and 5 now.....this is a very long road indeed.
What happened to all of the rain in our area today? It looked promising this morning then all we got here was a sprinkle.

Hey Canebo you know we should meet. Your just down the road. Our focus is our daughter Alex. She is crazy happy fun and wears us out. I have no room to speak only having one. Two girls...wow. Its a challenge. Take care.

Re: SE TX / SW LA Discussion - Decent Chance of Rain
Good morning! Any educated guesses on the amount of rainfall over the next few days for SE TX? Sandbags in order for the weekend? Should I mow today? What's the buzz? The radar in the Gulf is starting to look like my last pot of gumbo-- I can't figure out which direction the rain is moving-- Thanks!

Noticed those looking at some ats loops. Interesting the way they set up. Considering there was nothing in the sky this morning around here it sure did pop up quick.
Also starting to keep one eye much further south to see what that energy does.

a strong line of storms seems to be forming just to my south right now. With reds and even light purples showing up on the weatherunderground radar, I think I will be in for some major activity. North Harris county is probably about to get whacked by gusty winds, very heavy rainfall, vivid lightning and may be some small hail. It will be interesting to see if the NWS issues any advisories or warnings for the county in the coming minutes.

Re: SE TX / SW LA Discussion - Decent Chance of Rain
LCH NWS mentioned in their early morning discussion that the airmass wasn't as unstable as in previous days, so maybe that's why. We ended up with several inches of rain yesterday. Some areas in southern Jefferson County had 5 inches of rain when NWS issued either a warning or a flood advisory yesterday afternoon. I don't know how much they got after that though, but there was more rain. There were posts on a local board about Twin City Highway being flooded and people in Groves said there was flooding there too. Beaumont had heavy rain with some minor street flooding, but I don't think anything worse than that. When it rains, it pours! lol
The chance of rain was only slight today (for an odd change), and I haven't seen any, but after today, chances are high once again for the foreseeable future. Does this remind anyone else of last summer? Rain, rain, rain.
