Tropical Article Riddled with Errors

#1 Postby Cyclenall » Thu Jul 19, 2007 7:56 pm

This made me laugh: http://www.sun-herald.com/breakingnews.cfm?id=2607

Breaking news? Who writes these things and why is the image clearly outdated? I hope the average person can spot the large errors!  I counted over 10 so far and this is the best part:

Article wrote:Andrea and Barry both developed in June and never became a tropical system, although they each had tropical storm force winds.

Unreal. You will also find on the bottom-left hand corner of the page they spelled "question" as "questior".

It's an old article (July 3), though it has more than its fair share of issues. They really should date it on their site...

And really should put the name of the writer of the "story"...

And really, really, should add the writers email, lol.

I felt like I was reading a joke page or something. The writer obviously has no clue about anything he/she is talking about.

People read that article and then blame real Meteorologists for the errors. It's unbelievable. Also, there hasn't been 97L. As I remember the last one was 96L.

I don't ever remember the media being so focused on a tropical wave before 2005.

That image is 429 KB...pretty disgraceful from a web-designer point of view.
