This has nothing to do with this year because its way to early but i've been thinking that I have not seen a CAT 2 or higher form East of Puerto Rico in a very long time. Im men correct me if im wrong but has there been a WEST BOUND storm stronger than CAT 2 since GEORGES of 98?(Im sure Luis can remember) I think this is part of the reason why were seeing so much land falling MAJOR Canes...Thier all reaching thier Max peaks right in our back yards..I think my point here is the E Atlantic has become an unfavorable area to support Huricanes..

I know some have quoted stats to discount what Destructions has said, but I think he may be on to something here. True, there have been quite a few recent Atlantic Systems. But many of those have been at more northerly lats. I think Destructions5 is basically referring to your classic Cape Verde forming off Africa or in the central Atlantic and then approaching the Lesser Antilles. There haven't been many of those lately. And, the key point someone else made was that in 2005, with all of that activity, it was NOT a Cape Verde year. Storms developed further west, and then impacted the Gulf Coastal regions.
Eastern Atlantic lost its punch?
