I've already been doing a lot of merging. Take Ernesto for example... there were a bunch of advisories threads, so I first merged all of them together, then started merging some of the other Ernesto threads into it as well. I've kinda been jumping around a lot, but I might start sticking with one storm until I get everything with that one storm done. To me, it's easier to do it as I go, then there's less threads in the individual archived forums to go through, and the ones I've moved are still fresh on my mind. :)

This new system looks great and I love the idea of archiving old storms into a seperate forum.
I'll do some digging around for old storms and post the links here over the coming days.

I'm going to go over the ones you posted above and if they haven't been moved and merged yet, I'll do it. If you want to keep digging up threads, of course that will be helpful and appreciated, but if you have other things you'd rather do, we will eventually get to them. It's up to you. :)

Thanks!

Sure, I'll keep digging up threads. You're welcome.

wxmann 91,thanks for all of the work you haved done and I am sure you will continue to help us in the digging of those threads. If you dont mind of course when you can,dig the 2004 threads as in that year still we didn't have official advisory threads so there are a bunch of advisory threads scattered around the pages in that year.I can't find the big Katrina Thread.Dig that one. :)

BTW: Please, if we're using one thread per storm intensity, use the official RSMC designation and not JTWC. (I.E. no threads for Super Typhoons, and only create a typhoon thread when JMA says typhoon, not when it's still STS and JTWC says typhoon).

P.S. I'm also not sure if it's such a good idea to split threads into different intensities for some basins (e.g. Southwest Indian), because we'd end up with maybe four threads with no more than 20 posts.

Here's Katrina

Advisories Thread
Discussion Thread (TD 12 pre-Katrina)
Discussion Thread (TS Katrina)
Discussion Thread (from Hurricane strength and after)
Recon Thread 1
Recon Thread 2

Some related bigger threads...
Katrina strengthening
TD 10 Back Again?

Unrelated, dug these up as I was looking for Kat
Pre Irene TD9
TS Irene
TY Nabi (2005)
TY Chanchu (2006) (has links to other threads from the storm)
TS Ernesto (pre-Hurricane) thread, has links to other TS Ernie threads... but there may be a 12th or 13th thread that I haven't found
TD 1 (2006)

BTW, are you guys going back random pages or are you using the search function?

And also, keep in mind you can combine the two, you can go to the last post date of these threads, use that knowledge to find the location of the thread, and then find the other threads.

I've gotta go now, but when I come back I'll look for the 2004 threads.

Link

There's a lot of merging to do.

----------------

One note: I'm assuming after moving to the subforums, the threads are no longer in the original main TT forum, right?

Oh, and I just realized what I was doing probably was not helping you find ALL the threads, so I'm basically going to post page numbers where the main discussion starts (and then in parenthesis, the page where most discoing stops):
Claudette
Danny (in middle of page); this is pretty much where Claudette discussion begins to wane
TD 6; turned out to be a dud
(Both Danny and TD 6 discussions end around pg. 691.)
TD 7 (ends around same page)
TS Erika (I'm assuming it ends around there, don't see any more Erika threads
TD 9 (ends around 676 or 675)
Major Hurr Fabian (starts w/ TD 10 threads, actual Fabian name does not appear until page before) (ends around pg. 654)
TS Grace (ends around 668)
TS Henri (starts as TD12) (ends around pg. 654)
Maj Hurr Isabel (ends around 619!)
TD 14 (ends around 652)
Juan starts at around 617, but I need a rest for now. Will be back later.

Some TY Krovanh and Hur Ignacio (EPAC) threads (continues to around 674)
Stuff about STY Maemi (ends about 648, and one thread here)
Some Marty stuff (ends same page where starts)

actual individual threads
TS Guillermo (EPAC), Guillermo and soon to be Hilda
Jimena

I love this idea. Especially for the older storm threads which normally take a half hour to find.

Thanks for the information and guidance on some of the storms.

I decided I was going to start at around page 500 and work from there. That's the year 2004. You should see how many posts there are in the "Frances Advisories" thread!

It's going to be a while, but I think it'll all be worth it when it's complete. There's a lot of great information and observations provided from the members. :D

Can I please request that "Current active storms NONE" is uppdated more often when possible? Or is it just better to remove it? Not really nice when there's an active non-NHC TC but no one knows about it because it says "no active storms"...

Thanks.
