Perhaps the hardest thought I had all day... Actually I hope we have less in August than July, but that just wishful thinking on my part... especially if we have none in July.. :P

I do think things will start to get active in the next two to three weeks... Mid August always seems to kick things up in a normal season... 04 and 05 were not your normal seasons.. I can remember for years I wouldn't really get all that concerned here along the northern GOM until about the middle of Aug.. then the pucker pressure increases quite a bit..
4 storms certainly seems reasonable with at least one major...

My guess is 2. One early August and one end of month lasting into very early September.

I'm going to say 2 and they will probably be towards the end of the month.

I said 6 because I can see this season taking off quite quickly once some of the shear and dry air abate

I will make a September poll by the last week of August so think from now about how many will form in that month.

Actually, I'm calling for an above average October. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this is when we'll peak. Call me crazy, but I believe it.

I think that it will be a very late start to the season with a spurt of storms in mid-September and an early end to anything but fish. A couple in August tops.

I just feel that the hoopla over an "active" season will just not come true.

How do I know this?????
I don't.
I am guessing just like YOU are!!!!!

Well, I certainly see more than one within the 31 days of August. But everyone has their own opinion.

Yeah. I bet everyone laughed at the guy who said "I don't see anything forming in August." in July 1997.

A very good participation in the poll so far and the voting is a close one among three of the options, and all the options haved gotten votes. Those who still haved not voted yet, still have time to do so as the poll will close on July 31rst at midnight EDT.
