Another little twist at 22N and 67w caught my eye
When I was looking at 99L I saw a little twist with some convection starting to fire around 21n and 60w and moving WNW. If the shortwave moves out this could be an issue too.Otherwise this little system will likely follow 98L.

In the 8:05 Cobb said the trough was "splitting"..
Kind of dry at the moment without much convection but there is some potential trackwise.

I wouldn't discount this little area NNE of Puerto Rico it might have potential too.

would that not be very ironic if this is the one that really needs watching...yet it is in our backyard.

the local met (tampa) pointed briefly to this last night as an 'area to watch'
but as was mentioned earlier -sorry, i don't remember by who - it does look like there's still not much moisture available right now, but there are always changes. and yeah, august makes me a little nervous. maybe i just won't flip my calendar over - will that help???

its flaring up nicely today (for those that don't know what we are talking about, its just north of the Dominican Republic) and heading for the GOM it looks like...could be something to watch in my opinion:
