That in the LLC is exposed. But yes it has a closed LLC, which is about as much as Barry had.

(Right here would be a laughing smiley if they worked for me, which they don't. I should probably complain to somebody, although I'm not sure they could do anything about it.)

Chantal deserves more than a day or two of existence, after all we have been waiting for her for so long. I must admit though, this one has a gorgeous swirl.

That's a setback for intensification, but most of the time for the NHC isn't a setback if the system is close to land. I don't know what Chantal deserves, but I think we should treat every storm the same way.

Lack of what? Convection?

No, dummy! Lack of a low sheer environment! DUH! It's so obvious.

Heck I been saying the same thing for years. All systems should be treated fairly. If this and 99L doe's not become Chantal, I don't believe he will develop intill mid August.

I dislike the NHC's inconsistency w/ these petty systems.

I wouldnt doubt that this system would become an unnamed (sub)tropical storm/ depression in the PSA.

It's still frustrating no matter what they do at this point. Don't get me wrong I still have a ton of respect for the NHC.
