BTW - I know this is late - but Monday Evening the seabreeze line stalled and dumped right on top of me. 1.75" in about an hour.

This July was the 6th wettest in History at IAH with 9.94" of rain recorded (6.76" above the normal total for the month). It was also pretty close to the top ten coolest..but did not quite make it. Our average mean temperature was 82.2-degrees this July.

Yes, and it looks like heavy rainfall is a big threat with training.

We need to also watch the GOM system. The models all keep it east of here but with a ridge possibly building west and easterly flow setting up we need to watch this thing.

That's a good point. If that ridge builds in strong enough and fast enough (or if the system stalls and waits for the ridge), then we could have some serious issues. Let's just hope it stays east..we certainly don't need that kind of additional rain right now.

That area north of here is dropping very heavy rain! TEN INCHES of rainfall just this morning in a narrow strip between Zavalla and Sam Rayburn to Dam B and along the Neches River just west of Kirbyville, and looking at radar, it's still raining there as it slowly moves south. Geesh... and with grounds already completely saturated.

I first saw it on a local news site, then went to NWS and got the storm total.

I just had a powerful outflow boundry come through here! Whole trees were in motion, the electric lines were whistling and twigs/leaves were flying everywhere. According to the Beaufort wind scale I saw winds in the 32-46mph range..pretty powerful. (it lasted less than 5 minutes though)

looks like downtown Houston is about to get hit with that outflow hard. I wouldn't be surprised if the wind-tunneling effect generates gusts to 40-50+mph for a few minutes as it arrives.

update: I didn't see any reports of these kinds of winds downtown, so I assume they did not occur. The outflow must have gradually lost strength as it crept further south.

Outflow hit the BC Dome about 15 minutes ago - not as bad as you got it EWG. Looks like no rain today for me, just a little wind and a few-degrees of temp drop. Gulf Freeway area looks interesting right now...

Looks like some rain up at the house, but the outlfow came through here in Uptown and not a drop. Looks like the storms to the NE are falling apart. Craziness.

I went and took a nap in hopes that that storm moving in would produce some good thunder so I could get some good sleep, but it never did! Oh well, maybe next time... Looks like a pretty good shot at rain tomorrow?! and then eyes to the Gulf...

.40" here today.

Doppler estimates have been on the low side here for the last several storms. Strange b/c the last two years they were dead-on.

Just a few days ago there was not but a 20% chance of rain for mid week and they keep bumping the rain chances up as the days go on.

Looks like this rainy pattern just can't leave SE TX / SW LA alone... I saw some serious rainfall on the maps for the TX / LA border on Wednesday!

Been getting a big tropical P*ss Down under the Bear Creek Dome for the past 10 minutes. It just developed on top of us and is coming straight down in a big gray curtain.

From uptown, looking out my window to the north, lots of beautiful, puffy towers going up for the past hour or so. It looks very tropical outside, reminds me of Florida.
