The beach was one hell of a scene. Thankfully the Japanese don't build their houses right on surge prone coastline.

Now if only we could display that level of common sense.

Great video - thanks!

I can't help it - the people with umbrellas out in that - it just cracks me up.

I was surprised at the number of people that were out in the storm. Bus service was running too. Dang.

Was bus service actually running or was that bus only being used to help people get to the shelters? I couldn't tell.

After watching your video, I see you have a rather keen sense of awareness for safety and surroundings, great job.

Sometime while watching the typical TV reporters filming in severe weather, I wonder if they "really" know what is going on with the conditions to keep themselves from getting in trouble.

Anyway, really enjoyed the video. As I mentioned earlier, I am a bit fascinated how other countries prepare for these events, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to more pictures and videos in the future. :)

PS Do you have a blog about your experiences? I'm sure that I'd find it to be a VERY interesting read.

Great video.
Amazing that during the height of the storm there were still cars and trucks on the road.
Thanks Typhoon Hunter!!!

Thanks for the comments.

I've been dealing with about a billion damn technical problems but have managed to upload a video of storm surge/storm waves before Usagi made landfall. I wish I could have got more footage but conditions were so horrendous I was worried my camera would get trashed (and the threat of landslides.)

Amazing! I found a focal point and you can see the entire water level rising with each wave rather than the wave drawing the level down in front of it. Fabulous footage. Thank you
