Well, I don't know about the one in the gulf . . . that's probably a good-old Canadian brain freeze . . .

The one clipping the islands, though, is shown similarly in the 00Z Euro. The 00Z GFS also shows two hints of something, though it develops the first one instead of the second one that's farther back like the ECMWF and CMC do. At this point, though, it's still on the medium-range horizon, so I wouldn't give it too much stock until we start getting closer in.

I will admit I was suprised to see this, though, with the way the Atlantic looks right now . . .

those look more like broad lows instead of TCs

They were weak TC's in the BL wind field of the 00Z CMC/ECMWF . . . with pressure in the mid to low 1000 range. Certainly nothing impressive, especially in the 132hr+ range with the CMC and the 144-240hr range on the Euro.

If nothing else, maybe it's a wishful indication of our two far east Atlantic swirls.
