Well, it's 0510 and the scanner is fairly quite this morning, only thing I've heard, the fire IS still within it's containment lines BUT..........forecast winds in the area of 25 sustained with gusts to 40 mph later this morning COULD push the fire up Fought Ridge causing upslope effect and possible crowning of the fire.

Now.........the Aspen fire is NOT good, homes in and around Oracle are burning, flame lengths of 150 feet can be seen.

Sending positive vibes your way, Dennis! I talked with my sister near Prescott Valley, Az. yesterday. They had 3 firemen stationed at their home a few days ago! They have 38 acres on the top of a mountain......her husband was out with the bulldozer on the side of their property where a fire was raging! She said the danger seems to have passed.......but the horrible feelings of rage towards whoever started this fire were hard to swallow.

I'm planning on spending a couple weeks out there the end of July....maybe I'll come up and see you and Michelle! Hang in there.....I remember your posts from last year that showed your tremendous concern about the elk in your pond......you are a good soul, my friend!.......p

AWW Dennis, I am so sorry to hear about the fire situation in AZ.

I just pray you and yours will be safe and the fire remains contained.

Stay safe and keep us in the loop about the situation.

2 things, one..........the Fought Ridge for all intents and purposes is done with, PRAISE YOU JESUS and THANK YOU for the prayers! Ya know.......it just dawned on me this afternoon, this is the 3rd fire in the Fought Ridge area in the same # of years.

Second........we had some @$$hole (pardon the language) start a FLIPPIN campfire ON TOP of the Rim 2 hours ago, saw a crop duster slurry bomber buzzing the house, the slurry drop hit the fire 2x and knockedit down, 3/4 of an acre BUT........THEY CAUGHT the jerk!!!!!!!!! Quote "We came up here to watch the moon rise tonight and didn't want to get cold!" CANY YOU BELIEVE THIS CRAPOLA???? I swear, we are sitting with our breaths held, watching, waiting, smelling the horizon for the NEXT one!

Petal.........how VERY KEWL, when are you coming??? We are going to Flagstaff the 29th of the this month to pick up my daughter for the remainder of the summer, she lives in Prescott Valley too!!! Let me know, I'll give you my phone #'s so we can stay in touch!

Once again, MANY, MANY thanks for the prayers, I "KNOW" beyond a shadow of a doubt that that's what stopped the fire.......with the winds we had today, ANYTHING was possible!
