There won't be much in the way of steering currents or shear in the gulf by middle of next week. Hard to tell what part of that wave might develop, the models differ on that. The last two systems crossing the Yucatan encountered just enough shear to keep them from developing. The only positive news is this wave hasn't shown much vorticity yet.
