Though it is true that model representation may never pan out, one can not underestimate what can happen and at what quickness with potential systems this close to home. One only needs to do some research on the Labor Day Storm of 1935 and realize in a day and a mere 200 miles, it intensified from a minor hurricane to one which reached wind speeds up to 180 MPH while crossing the Keys. In more recent times, this "like" intensification was seen in Camille, Charley and of course Wilma. While we can see the gradual development while tracking storms from 2000 miles away and plan accordingly, even if the long trek keeps development at bay, it seems that all hell can break loose real close to home in a much to quick period of time, if the conditions are condusive here in our backyards. And it seems like at least a few of the many conditions, are "right" presently. Let's hope that to many more do not fall into that category. Just something to think about for the next 2 months. Interesting. With the oceanic heat content as high as it is
that could make something like this possible. Hopefully
it doesn't happen, but always have to keep your
guard up.
