I still can't tell whether there is an actual low.

These are the most recent Dakar obs:

Observed at: Dakar, SG
Elevation: 79 ft / 24 m

81 °F / 27 °C
Mostly Cloudy
Humidity: 84%
Dew Point: 75 °F / 24 °C
Wind: 10 mph / 17 km/h / 4.6 m/s from the NNW
Pressure: 29.80 in / 1009 hPa (Steady)
Heat Index: 86 °F / 30 °C
Visibility: 6.2 miles / 10.0 kilometers
UV: 0 out of 16
Clouds: Mostly Cloudy 900 ft / 274 m
(Above Ground Level)

If there was a low on/just off the coast, I should think the winds wouldn't be NNW.

Latest QuikSCAT shows an incomplete circulation (no NE winds in the NW quad).

Not that it matters much, at this point.

Looks like it will end up being a good situation for the wave in the front.

This is the 0z run of the EC at 240hrs at 500mb . Not much difference from the last run. The ridge in SE looks like it would steer it westward towards South Florida after 240 hrs.

The 0z GFS shows no SE ridge at 240hrs hence the track up the east coast again:

Also another to see on the GFS is that its now showing development around the 120-180r timeframe...We are not looking at 300+hrs anymore.

Punkyg... I am one of the people that like intense storms, but I'll tell you this,if it does hit you.. You'll regret saying that. Losing everything you own including your house is not something that will bore you at all.. It will make your life a living hell. I'm guessing you've never been through a really strong hurricane. I haven't,but I know that it's really not something you'd want to happen to you if you knew what it was like

Ok, I'm putting Sanford's coordinates into the next GFS model run and it will be out in a few hours. Thanks for your request. Sincerely, Management
