I agree that at 11 PM the system may have a shot, but without visible confirmation the NHC rarely does an upgrade. Usually the would wait until 5 AM or 11 AM to have visible. In this case @ 5 AM the system will already be visible.

You probably forgot Luis, but the GTWO doesn't update at the 5:30am/pm outlooks . . . only 11:30am/10:30pm.

That convective burst may be enough... I have seen TD's declared in the Eastern Atlantic at 11pm(later what was Emily and Frances both were). I can't remember any at 5am.

Ummm, the one on the left was 2 hours ago, the one on the right is the most recent. It looks a lot better. It only needs a small increase to be a TD at 11.

Does anyone know if the NRL site is still down? Mine isnt working and the alternate site is very slow. If it is still down, does anyone know when it will be back up?

Yeah. But it still has time before the 11pm advisory to change. Or perhaps the back-up site is so slow it won't even update before the NHC issues an advisory.

Yes it is and FNMOC is slow as a tortoise. It's annoying. I know it's the weekend but COME ON.

The 0z models will be out around 9pm ET. Look to see what they call it. That usually will tell you(not always, but most of the time).

It appears that everyone hasn't read this thread yet. As an announcement by staff, it's your responsibility to read it. It will only take a couple of minutes.

If they find an undisputed closed circulation, they can issue a Special Advisory at any time...
