It is stilll too early to say if Puerto Rico will have a direct hit from this system.However,you can follow developments about the progress of the system to see what is going on.Its around 5 days away from the longitud of Puerto Rico if it continues to move at the current motion so you have plenty of time to prepare for an evacuation.But its early to have panic in Puerto Rico.

yeah TD at 5AM for sure now. Maybe 11 if they don't get the daylight on the area in time for the 5am advisory. but to me it looks like a TD, and a well organized one at that.

Looking at the models, once 90L enters the Caribbean it starts gaining latitude and is above 20N at 80W, which is a few hundred miles S of FL. Wouldn't take much to bring it SFL's way. Most of the models start gaining latitude at E Caribbean, enough to keep this system from going due W into C America, so at this point C America doesn't seem likely. Conditions have to be just right for a developed system starting at @12.5N/28W to track west across the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Gulf into S. Texas/Mexico w/o hitting a weakness that sends it north. If Dean develops in the next 36 hours, IMO this will either E Gulf, SFL, or classic close call for FL into Carolinas problem. No development is the only hope for the islands, IMO. I know it's not scientific, but more times than not if a system develops in the central Atlantic it's going to gain latitude, if it remains weak it will continue W through the Caribbean.
