I don't know if anyone else has noticed or not, but there is alot of talk going on about the tropics here on the Gulf Coast. I don't ever recall hearing people just "chat" about it this early (season hasn't even started for cripes sake) unless they are standing in line buying plywood and bottled water. It doesn't seem to be calm, casual conversation either, more filled with apprehension. This season could prove to be a very memorable one.

The tale of Henri and Grace
Well, lets see.......I thought that Georges was a terrible name for a hurricane, and it became a major hurricane. I would have like the name Isidore for a hurricane if it was referring to a woman's name...but Isidore can also be a man's name too, which I found out last year...Yuck! I picture Isidore as some South American beauty with flowers in her hair or something! So anyway, I hated the name Isidore last year and it also became a major hurricane, so this year I would have to say Henri is going to be "the one", because that is the worst name for a hurricane ever. Can you just imagine all these news people saying Henri (ON RI). I picture this snooty rich woman sunning on the beach with her cocktails and She's calling her butler.."Henri dahling, would you be so kind as to bring me another Mimosa?..Thank you Henri dahling, you're so fabulous."
Not to mention half the reporters are going to be calling it Henry anyway :?
OK, choice number two is what I would call the hurricane that almost was. Picture a huge Cat 5 heading NW right towards South Florida (al la Floyd). Except this one is not forecast to turn north anytime soon. This is it, people are panicking, shelters are stuffed, cars are stuck on the highway trying to evacuate. Jim Cantore is reporting from Palm Beach County Florida, right where the hurricane is forecast to hit in less than 24 hours. Slowly, the outer bands start affecting the coast, winds are getting stronger, the rain is getting harder, and night is falling. Suddenly, without no meterological reason, the hurricanbeginsgs to go NNW then North! The experts are amazed and also dumbfounded, the news people start to panic (there will be no story if this hurricane doesn't make landfall and destroy billions of dollars of property!!). Jim Cantore is crying because once again he is left standing on the beach with only a little rain and his poor anometer is only registering 25 mph winds
And before you know it this hurricane is rapidly heading NE out to sea, and not one tree was blown over and not one single person was hurt.....This my friends would be, OF COURSE, Hurricane GRACE.

Okay okay, I'm bored, so I'll go ahead and spill my thoughts. To me Danny seems like an east coast storm, not that disasterous, but not a sneeze either. And I sort of have a bad feeling about Henri. Perhaps a Georges type storm? Also, something keeps telling me that Mindy will be one of those nasty late season Caribbean monsters that we've been having lately in these busy seasons. Just some wild guesses based only on the way the names sound, no scientific reasoning or anything of course.

All you guys are out there and your making me just like ya!
So here I go...
TS Bill will make a pit stop some where along the W. coast of Fl.
Isabel will enter the GOM Kate will be the major for the GOM and Fl.
The E.Coast will feel the affects of Erica, Grace(major) and Oh Henri
Puerto Rico will see Danny as a Cat1 and Fabian as a Cat3
Mork and Mindy (I mean Larry) will stay together and ride out into the sunset together....
