Re: Global Models for TD4=18z GFS run is being posted
WOW....This would be FANTASTICO for everyone (except ones on here that way strikes)...I'll continue to be optimistic and not put too much into these early runs but I do like the northward trend. Wish we could get the EURO going that way!

Re: Tropical Depression 4,Discussions,Analysis and Sat Pics
It will be very interesting to read the next discussion by Derek Ortt and see what he thinks about these changes.

Please remember that this is an off-hour run and is probably not as reliable as the 00z and 12z runs will be.
On the other hand, this is a far more reasonable solution than the last two days of GFS runs . . . so I would hope that a similar solution is found at 00z and that we finally have a reasonable medium-range track to go with.

well, I don't know what to say GFS....BUT*** this is what I expect from you! I think the European has the best initial idea of where this MIGHT** go. I will say this. .....That track, from the Euro, would be an IDEAL teleconnected track from the SW Pacific. Also, that track has pretty much happend TWICE this year out there!

Wow, the latest GFS model is taking this a fish, could this be a vitial run. Probably not we will have to wait till the 00z run of the GFS to see what it says then, but this is definatly a possible big turn around for the track of this.

I'd really love to have graphics; I tried once with Google Earth maps, and they were nice, but it takes a long time to do those nicely. Hopefully, I can come up with a good way to do it before too long, but I'll be busy with stuff for awhile.

I'm not harping on U.S. Landfall here but....given the current trend I just don't think this forecast is gonna verify.
I've pretty much seeing a U.S. Landfall, regardless of GOM or EC. It's going somewhere, but that's just an opinion.
We'll see if it holds this Western with the occasionally south jog motion.

I don't want anybody hurt but for some reason they are more fun to track when they hit land. I've been through katrina and Ivan so I know what it is like.msbee wrote:miamicanes177 wrote:I'll be sick to my stomach if this is a fish

QuikScat just managed to capture TD4. Looking at the image zoomed in, it does look like there are a couple of uncontaminated 40 kt barbs in there.
