Does anyone know why they have changed the time of the update?
Members, we value everyone's participation but try to keep the pace of commentary down so that valuable information doesn't get buried under pages of discussion. If you have something to add or a question you need answered, please don't hesitate to post it - but if something has already been said or already asked and answered, use your judgment as to whether it really needs saying again. Also, remember that we have a chat room for more casual conversation - and the great thing is that the chat room doesn't put any additional load on our server. We'd love to see you there. The chat room can be accessed at this link (java) or this link (html) or if you have an IRC client like mIRC then connect to irc.esper.net. The channel name is #storm2k.
I know but I thought it was normally issued at 1pm CDT and 4pm CDT?StormWarning1 wrote:miamicanes177 wrote:From the NHC:

They list the time of the updates based on the time zone the storm is in. Thats why CDT for Erin.
yes, it is. According to TWC that band may be packing gusts to tropical storm force.Tireman4 wrote:I believe I am correct in saying that this is the outer rain band of Erin

I doubt it will go that far south. The models and motion seem to still indicate a landfall closer to their earlier path. However, the difference of a few miles does not make much of a difference with this storm...the outer rain bands will likely still reach the upper TX coast either way.Diva wrote:Why did the official forecast track take such a southerly shift? Hope we don't miss out on some rain to cool us off.
