Texas effects from Erin
Please feel free to report current tropical storm Erin related weather conditions along the TX coast here in this thread:
I will start...
Currently in Houston it is overcast with a breeze out of the E/NE at 15mph. Feels very much how you would expect it to feel with a tropical storm to the south of us over the gulf. Pressure is currently ~1012mb.

Jefferson County airport:
Thunderstorm
89°F
(32°C)
Humidity: 63 %
Wind Speed: SE 13 MPH
Barometer: 29.91" (1012.7 mb)
Dewpoint: 75°F (24°C)
Heat Index: 99°F (37°C)
Visibility: 10.00 mi.
At my house, no rain yet, but it's cloudy, and Erin has lowered our temps some.
We have a Heat Advisory, as we have for days, so even a little lower is nice. 100+ feels like death.
NWS has raised our rain chances significantly the next few days, but Erin will move inland well SW of here.

Not yet. If we get all of this rain as advertised and as wet as the ground is from the July rains, you just might have some ocean front property in Austin. Well at least to San Antonio.

Woke-up at about 5AM to LOTS of thunder, lightning, and a burst of rain. That was the first pseudo-band from Erin, but it was really a convergence line setting-up between marine air getting pulled around its circulation meeting-up with the really hot airmass that's been in place over TX the last week.
That all cleared-out this morning, it was sunny for awhile, but now it's overcast with a cirrus shield overhead.
We had the first real band come through the Galleria area just over an hour ago, but it was a broken band, and all I got here was a few gusts of wind. Nothing major yet.

Re: Texas effects from Erin
Erin has done wonders for Southeast Texas, despite the fact she seems to be a dud. I am sure Corpus is glad.
Southeast Texas is cloudy and about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. One rain shower several hours ago. Nothing happening now - just watching my two boys in the pool.
Maybe there is reason for storms?
