At this time, the Chatroom link at the top of the page still points to the Stormdancing browser. To enter the new room with Java, click on this link:
http://www.esper.net/pjirc/
You'll get a popup security screen and you need to select Run or Yes, depending on your browser.
That will take you to the EsperNet JAVA Chat Client. On that screen, in the window just above the word "public," type: /join #Storm2k and hit Enter. That will take you to the Storm2k chatroom.
Storm2k also has an Off Topic channel. To get in there, type: /join #Storm2k_OT
(for all non-weather related chat, enforced moreso when there's a tropical system brewing)
If you connect through mIRC or Pirch, you'll need to select the EsperNet server and then type: /join #Storm2k
If you have it set to automatically join the current Storm2k channel, go ahead and enter that way if you'd like. If in mIRC, click on File, then Select Server, and under "IRC Network:" find the EsperNet server and click on it.
windows.esper.net
If you have any problems, please reply and state your problem in as much detail as possible, and someone will help you as soon as possible.

Re: Come Chat with us about Dean and 91L
I'll be in just after 10pm ET. I'm attempting to watch some TV. It's not going too well...

I see some people are having trouble getting into chat. Try this or check the sticked chat page at the top of the forum.
Java: http://www.esper.net/pjirc/ (change your name, then type /join #storm2k)
HTML: http://windows.esper.net/publicirc/irc.cgi (change your name, and change the room to #storm2k)
Remember, the best way to connect is with a client (mIRC, Trillian, Colloquy, etc.).

Did you try both mIRC and the new chatroom?

And just because there isn't a storm doesn't mean nobody is in the chatroom, the room is always open, we're in there every night and love seeing new faces.
