No, I'm NOT a talent scout....just curious (and bored ; and wondering what talents our posters posess as entertainers...

Are there any talented singers, musicians, comedians, or actors out there?

The only entertainment talents I have are musical -- but not as a singer (I scare the birds when singing in the shower

I learned to play the drums at age 12, and played them for nearly a decade; both at church and in a contemporary gospel music band. I also play the bass guitar well enough to "fake it" onstage (not humiliate myself

The singing talents in my family are my father and baby sis Beth. Dad has a great voice, sang in churches all over this area in the 1970's, as well as on both tv and radio religious broadcasts; is also an accomplished musician, plays bass and electric guitar).

Beth has a beautiful voice...and won the the school talent show both her sophomore and junior years of high school.

I used to play clarinet and piano (I still can, but I don't very much at the moment).

Other than that, the only other big thing I have done was recite parts of the Canterbury Tales, namely, the General Prologue and the Knight's Portrait and the first 160 lines or so of the Knight's Tale (which is a very, very long tale, so reciting even the whole first quarter was out of the question) for a senior recital at the end of May. It wasn't the best performance I could give because I was nervous. The two most notable mistakes I made were completely forgetting a line and in the process of remember the rest of one elsewhere, saying "uh....", which kind of broke up the rhythm a bit.

I don't think public performance is a thing for me, alas.

i played the flute and clarinet. i was almost 1st chair in the state band, but i was cheated as usual. they claimed a bunch of other girls had more talent than me

I almost forgot...my little sis Becky played both the flute and clarinet in the high school band (she's also an extremely gifted artist..won several awards for paintings her final two years of high school).

I used to play the clarinet, bass Clarinet and alto Sax in High School. I could still play the clarinet now if I wanted to...other than that...its many sports.

Nada, zipola talent here. Talent genes were left out when I was created! My mom studied opera and my daughter can dance. Looks like talent skipped a generation!

I sing heavier songs ... the last ones I performed were "Remember" From Disturbed ... and "Deny" from Default ... and a lot of people I come in contact with say that I missed my calling ...

I used to play guitar a long while back but since then have lost the touch to do so ...

HurricaneGirl plays bass guitar and is currently working with a band called Slumbertank in Jacksonville with her husband (she got married last Saturday) and they do have a website that is under construction ...

Some say that watching me and my brother conducting an auction is quite entertaining. I also am a DJ and a KJ (Karaoke Jockey). I have been told that I have a talent for getting the crowd going at these events. People who swear that they will never sing at karaoke, I have been abled to entice onto the stage.

I sing baritone, used to be quite the dancer...play both double bass and bass guitar, have done voice-overs for commercials, have been a DJ (college), a few stints as a stand-up comedian (college) and "trod the boards" doing Shakespearean plays to modern musicals (college, community theatre). I also have the ability to deliver "cold copy" (written articles, poems, etc. that I've never seen before) without any "practice readings", and done so with clarity and emphasis, as if I'd written them myself (so I've been told). I am also an artist/designer/illustrator, but those have been superseded by the computer age commercially.

I have employed some, if not all of these in teaching and public speaking over the years.

There's little use for my gifts today, but I still have them.

Blizzard, I can relate ... I said the same thing about 3 years ago, when a Karaoke DJ and several of my friends and co-workers "egged" me on to sing ... some of them heard me singing in the car one night with a CD and wanted me to try it out at least once... I was nervous as hell and in fact, I may have had my eyes closed the whole time, but I pulled it off and got a standing ovation and several unexpected kisses from very, very cute females in the crowd! ... Unfortunately, this didn't go very well with the girl I wanted to date at the time ...

I don't have talent as a public entertainer, that's for sure. To my family I may.

In general, I apparently have some talent/skill. It is said that those with Asperger's Syndrome (high functioning autism) are gifted. Not sure what to claim I am talented in, certainly my interest is meteorology and I like to use numbers, but do not know much advanced math like I wish I did.... after some time getting used to problems in advanced math, I would probably catch on quickly.

I hate talking about myself in this way because it makes me sound like I am boosting my own ego, but to answer your question I am in a bluegrass band. I play bass fiddle and sing mainly lead vocals. Last year I was nominated in the Bass Fiddle Player of the year catagory at the SPBGMA Bluegrass Awards. Our band did win, however, instrumental group of the year.

I also sang and made all-state in choir and first chair all-district tenor sax while in high school band.

I went to nationals in forensics in duet acting and won several tournaments, even placing 4th in the state of Missouri in Prose Reading with the piece "The Boy Who Painted Christ Black". I also have been in many high school and college theatre productions including A MidSummer Night's Dream (Peter Quince) and Don't Drink The Water (Father Drobney).

I can see what you meant, Garrett. We shouldn't be boosting our egos. I am sure it is understand by everyone here. Most people have talent, some more than others. We are mentioning what ours are for discussion.

Lets see...was in a rock/pop band playing sax and singing background from 1960-66...but those high notes have gone south since. Must have been that version of "Louie Louie."

And well, when I tried to do the chicken dance with the wife of the mayor of Schwieberdingen, Germany (our sister city) in that town's firehouse, well...I was just flappin' my wings and turned around, and there was Mrs. Mayor down there on the floor face first! So...no more chicken dance for me. I made it out of that town without any jail time.

I'm a terrible joke teller...but lets see....

I brought a laugh from a whole class of schoolkids one day when I intercepted a note they were passing around that said..."Hey...teach doesn't know his fly is down!!!!"

But I try my best not to do encores of that one.

I play the piano...but still need to have the music in front of me. I did take violin lessons for a year when I was nine. I think I quit because I was involved in Girl Scouts at the same time while taking piano lessons and the violin lessons.

I like to sing...I get lucky hitting the right notes from time to time - I guess it depends on the song and the vocal range.

I LOVE to dance. The Disco era was for me! I probably would've loved living in the 50's too because of all of the dances.

I have a 1978 Fender Stratocaster (I bought new in 78) and a Marshall stack, Peavy stack and , several smaller amps. 1600 watts total. The neighbors don't mind when I crank it up, my wife gets nervous thinking that maybe the road is calling me back............ :38:
